Twisted Flower Socks

I really hustled to finish knitting these socks in one week and my hands paid the price. Ouch! I may re-think taking on projects with twisted stitches in the future or at least try not to finish so quickly. The socks are Cookie A's Twisted Flower Socks from the book Knit.Sock.Love (also available as a single pattern).

Even though my hands are not happy my feet certainly are with the cashmere content in this yarn. It is String Theory Caper yarn and was one of my Scavenger Hunt prizes from last summer. I was asked what color I wanted and I just said any cool color and I was thrilled to receive yarn in my favorite color periwinkle.

The color is showing up blue in this close-up but really it is the perfect periwinkle color.

I already started a pair of stranded socks. It is such a relief to do stranded color knitting with two hands - the comfort of knitting that way is like a spa vacation for my aching hands.

Your socks are beautiful! How difficult was the pattern for you? How long did it take to you to knit them? I have the book and would like to learn the twisted stitch technique, but am a little intimidated. I hope there are some videos on You Tube that might be helpful with some of the stitches.

eboston, the socks took about a week but they were time-consuming. I didn't find the charts difficult to follow but the twisted stitches really hurt my hands.
